The story is compelling, and the writing style is definitely engaging. Plus even though I’m not a huge fan of poetry, I can appreciate it, but the continual references to Walt Whitman and his works come across as a little ostentatious, and I had a hard time believing its effects on the main characters. There was no relevance to the characters, their motivation, or the environment to carry this out.

But I wasn’t sold on the delivery… letter writing is fine, but there was something about the style of the writing how many of the letters were repeated snippets of conversation, or moments spent together for no other reason than to inform the reader. The events that happen are truly shocking and really pack a punch to my heart.
